Sonoma County's Free Chipper Program
The County of Sonoma is now accepting reservations for the 2026 Free Chipper Program.
Permit Sonoma Fire Prevention Division provides free chipper services to residents who are engaged in making their property more wildfire safe. The purpose of the program is to create defensible space, specifically around the home, structures, and access routes to the structures, for properties located in the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County.
Visit the Sonoma County Chipper Program website for more information on how and where to stack your piles, and what to leave out of your pile. Make sure your chip pile meets all the guidelines before making your reservation. Use the Reservation Scheduler to make a reservation.

May 29 Blood Drive
Give blood on May 29, 2026 at the Geyserville Fire Station to help patients around the Memorial Day holiday. Donors will receive a customizable "I Give for..." T-shirt, redeemable through Donor Rewards. The Bloodmobile will be parked in the driveway of the Geyserville fire station. Use the Appointment Link to sign up.
Goal: 16 appointments, 11 donors, and 13 lifesaving units of blood

Measure H Sales Tax Project Updates
Measure H, the “Improved and Enhanced Local Fire Protection, Paramedic Services and Disaster Response” Transaction and Use Tax , authorizes a countywide one-half-cent special transaction and use tax (sales tax) to supplement existing funding for wildfire prevention and preparedness, paramedic services, and emergency and disaster response.
Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District has already comnpleted several countwide roadside vegetation management projects using Measure H funds. For more information about these projects, visit Meaure H Sales Tax Funded Projects.
